Shifter M/T: Service and Repair
NOTE: The gear shift lever bolts directly to the transmission. There is no external shift linkage to disconnect or adjust.
REMOVAL
1. Remove console assembly from vehicle.
2. Remove four cover mounting bolts.
3. Lift cover off of transmission.
INSTALLATION
1. Clean sealing surfaces of transmission. Then apply a bead of Mopar (R) Gasket Maker.
2. Install shifter onto transmission. Make sure that the ball on the bottom of the shifter is in the offset lever.
3. Install cover mounting bolts and tighten to 18 Nm (156 inch lbs.).
4. Shift the vehicle to ensure that the shifter operates correctly.
5. Reinstall shift console.
