Power Door Lock Switch: Testing and Inspection
Switch-Door Cylinder Unlock
DOOR CYLINDER UNLOCK SWITCH
Any diagnosis of the Power Locks system should begin with the use of scan tool and the appropriate Diagnostic Procedures.
Refer to the appropriate wiring information.
1. Remove the door trim panel See: Doors, Hood and Trunk/Doors/Front Door/Front Door Panel/Service and Repair/Front Door Trim Panel -
Removal.
2. Use an ohmmeter to test switch resistance between pins.
3. Using the ignition key, turn the key cylinder to the unlock position.
4. Test resistance between pins. Ohmmeter should show 1970 Ohm ± 5%.
5. Test resistance between pins while switch is in the unactuated mode. Ohmmeter should show 18.2K Ohm ± 5%.
6. If resistance values are not within the parameters, replace the switch.
