Brake Pad: Removal and Replacement

Brake Pads - Removal

REMOVAL

NOTE: Review all Warnings and Cautions. See: Service Precautions/Brakes - Warning

1. Raise and support vehicle. See: Maintenance

NOTE: Perform STEP 2 through STEP 8 on each side of vehicle to complete pad set removal.

2. Remove wheel and tire assembly from vehicle. See: Maintenance/Wheels and Tires/Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement/Tires and

Wheels - Removal

3. Using hammer (4) and pin punch (3) on outboard end, tap lower brake pad support pin (2) out of caliper (1).

4. Remove brake pad spring clip (2) out from under the upper support pin (1) still in caliper.
