Mode Door Actuator - Removal

REMOVAL

WARNING: Disable the airbag system before attempting any steering wheel, steering column, or instrument panel component diagnosis or
service. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery (ground) cable, then wait two minutes for the airbag system capacitor to discharge before
performing further diagnosis or service. This is the only sure way to disable the airbag system. Failure to take the proper precautions may
result in accidental airbag deployment and possible serious or fatal injury.

1. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable.
2. Remove the instrument panel See: Body and Frame/Interior Moulding / Trim/Dashboard / Instrument Panel/Service and Repair/Instrument Panel -

Removal.

3. Disconnect the wire harness connector (2 and 6) from the mode door actuator (3 and 4) being serviced, located on the top of the HVAC housing

(7).

4. Remove the screws (1 and 5) that secure the mode door actuator being serviced to the HVAC housing and remove the actuator.
