Hose-Heater

Removal

REMOVAL

WARNING: Refer to the applicable warnings and cautions for this system before performing the following operation See: Heating and Air
Conditioning/Service Precautions/Warning and See: Heating and Air Conditioning/Service Precautions/Caution. Failure to follow the warnings
and cautions may result in serious or fatal injury.

NOTE: The heater hoses are constructed from formed steel tubing and rubber hoses. The ends are secured by spring tension clamps.

1. Drain the engine cooling system See: Engine, Cooling and Exhaust/Cooling System/Service and Repair.
2. Remove the heater hose retainer (4) from the right inner fender and separate the heater inlet hose (3) and heater return hose (5).
3. Using spring tension clamp pliers, compress and slide the clamps (2) off of each end of the hose being removed.

CAUTION: DO NOT apply excessive pressure on heater tubes or connections when removing heater hoses. Excessive pressure may
damage or deform the tubes and heater core, causing an engine coolant leak.

4. Disconnect the hose end by carefully twisting each end of the hose back and forth, while gently pulling it away from the connection.

NOTE: Replacement of the heater hoses will be required if the hose ends are cut for removal.

5. If necessary, carefully cut the hose end and peel the hose off of the heater core tubes or coolant reservoir (1).
6. Remove the heater hoses from the engine compartment.

Installation

INSTALLATION

1. Position the heater hoses (3 and 5) into the engine compartment.
2. Using spring tension clamp pliers, compress and slide each clamp (2) away from the end of the hose being installed.
