Flex Mat

Removal

REMOVAL

1. Open deck lid.
2. Remove four bolts to battery compartment cover and remove cover.
3. Disconnect and isolate the battery negative cable.

WARNING: Wait two minutes for the system reserve capacitor to discharge before servicing any airbag components. Failure to do this
may result in serious or fatal injury.

4. Remove the seat from vehicle See: Body and Frame/Seats/Service and Repair/Seat/Seat - Removal.
5. Disconnect the one electrical connector (2) to the flex mat from the OCM (1). The thin membrane type wiring to the flex mat is retained in a

plastic clip and needs to be taken out to remove it.

6. Remove the seat cushion from the seat frame See: Body and Frame/Seats/Seat Cushion/Service and Repair/Seat Cushion - Removal.
7. Using a trim stick or equivalent, gently pry up on the two plastic push pins (3) holding the flex mat (1) to the seat cushion frame (2).
8. Lift the flex mat (1) from the seat cushion frame (2).

Installation

INSTALLATION

1. Lay the flex mat (1) onto the seat cushion frame (2) and firmly snap the plastic push pins (3) into place.
2. Install the seat cushion onto the seat cushion frame (2) See: Body and Frame/Seats/Seat Cushion/Service and Repair/Seat Cushion - Installation.
