Occupant Restraint Controller (ORC) Module
Occupant Restraint Controller (ORC) Module - Removal
REMOVAL
1. Open deck lid.
2. Remove four bolts to battery compartment cover and remove cover.
3. Disconnect and isolate the battery negative cable.
WARNING: Wait two minutes for the system reserve capacitor to discharge before servicing any airbag components. Failure to do this
may result in serious or fatal injury.
4. Remove center console See: Body and Frame/Interior Moulding / Trim/Console/Service and Repair/Center Console - Removal.
5. Remove the center bezel See: Body and Frame/Interior Moulding / Trim/Dashboard / Instrument Panel/Service and Repair/Instrument Panel
Center Bezel - Removal.
6. Using a trim stick or equivalent, gently pry out on cluster bezel See: Instrument Panel, Gauges and Warning Indicators/Instrument Cluster /
Carrier/Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement/Instrument Panel Cluster Bezel - Removal.
7. Remove radio and electrical connections See: Accessories and Optional Equipment/Radio, Stereo, and Compact Disc/Radio/Stereo/Service and
Repair/Removal and Replacement/Removal.
8. Remove two electrical connectors (3) to Occupant Restraint Controller (ORC) (1).
9. From inside center stack area, remove three retaining screws(2) to ORC (1) and remove from floor tunnel.
Occupant Restraint Controller (ORC) Module - Installation
INSTALLATION
1. Place the ORC (1) into center stack area and place in mounting location.
WARNING: Make sure ORC (1) is positioned properly on the floor tunnel with the arrow pointing forward. Failure to do so could result
in personal injury or death.
2. Install the three retaining screws to the ORC. Tighten bolts to 13.5 Nm (120 in. lbs.).
3. Connect the two electrical connectors (3) to the ORC (1).
4. Install the cluster bezel See: Instrument Panel, Gauges and Warning Indicators/Instrument Cluster / Carrier/Service and Repair/Removal and
Replacement/Instrument Panel Cluster Bezel - Installation.
5. Install the center bezel See: Body and Frame/Interior Moulding / Trim/Dashboard / Instrument Panel/Service and Repair/Instrument Panel Center
