Front Steering Knuckle: Service and Repair
Front Steering Knuckle - Installation
INSTALLATION
1. If tone wheel seal (1) is missing or damaged, install a new seal. See:
NOTE: If hub and bearing is removed from knuckle, perform the next five steps before installing the knuckle.
CAUTION: A special corrosion prevention gasket (1) must be installed between the hub and bearing and the steering knuckle. The gasket is
required to prevent galvanic corrosion between the hub and bearing and the steering knuckle.
2. Install a new corrosion prevention gasket (1) on hub and bearing mounting flange (2).
3. Install hub and bearing (with gasket) in steering knuckle (1). Align holes in corrosion prevention gasket with holes in hub and bearing, and
knuckle.
4. Install four hub and bearing mounting bolts (3). Tighten mounting bolts to 61 Nm (45 ft. lbs.).
