SYMPTOM/CONDITION
Drive shaft emits a ringing or rattling sound during acceleration. Condition is most predominant when accelerating in 3rd or 4th gear, and disappears
during coast.
DIAGNOSIS
Road test the vehicle to verify the condition.
REPAIR PROCEDURE
Select the correct I.V.A. drive shaft from the chart below:
1 - PN 4137419 Drive Shaft
- 115" W.B.
W/8-1/4", 9-1/4" Axle
1 - PN 4137422 Drive Shaft
- 131" W.B.
W/8-1/4", 9-1/4" Axle
Remove drive shaft and replace with new I.V.A. drive shaft.
Note:
This bulletin is released in advance of parts availability. The parts listed in this bulletin will be available in late September, 1983.
