Fuel Tank Pressure Release Valve: Service and Repair
Pressure Relief/Roll Over Valve
REMOVAL
1.
The fuel tank must be removed to change the rollover valve, refer to FUEL TANK for removal procedure.
2.
Wedge the tip of a screwdriver between the rubber grommet on the rollover valve, and the fuel tank. Using a second screwdriver as a lever pry the
rollover valve out of the fuel tank.
3.
Set the rollover valve upright on a flat surface and push down on the grommet, peeling it down off of the valve.
INSTALLATION
Pressure Relief/Rollover Valve
1.
Lubricate the grommet with power steering fluid, and install it into the tank first, working it around the tank lip.
2.
After the grommet is installed in the fuel tank, push the rollover valve into the grommet, and twist the valve until it is correctly positioned.
3.
Reconnect the rollover valve hose, and reinstall the fuel tank.
