Vacuum Pump/Power Steering Pump Assembly
1. If removed, install vacuum hoses on vacuum pumps.
2. Position new gasket on pump assembly. Hold gasket in place with non-hardening sealer.
3. Align and install pump assembly on engine. Tighten mounting bolts to 57 ft lb (77 Nm).
4. Connect fluid lines to power steering pump. Tighten pressure line fitting to 40 ft lb (55 Nm). Be sure return line and clamp are properly
positioned and secured on pump return tube.
5. Attach booster hose to upper vacuum pump and attach interconnecting hose to each pump.
6. Fill power steering pump reservoir with new fluid.
7. Connect negative battery cable.
8. Start and run engine. Slowly turn steering wheel left and right to circulate fluid and purge air from system. Recheck fluid level and top up as
needed.
9. Before moving vehicle, verify that booster is providing power assist and that a firm brake pedal is obtained.
Pump Gear, Eccentric and Bearing Replacement

Pressing Eccentric From Drive Gear
1. If only the drive gear must be replaced, press eccentric and bearing from old gear.
2. Start new gear on eccentric by hand, making sure it starts straight and is not cocked.
