Cruise Control Servo Cable: Service and Repair
Servo Throttle Cable Assembly
1. On six cylinder models, remove clip from pin on bellcrank and remove lost motion link. On 1982 - 84 four cylinder models, remove chain from
throttle lever pin and servo cable bracket from intake manifold.
2. Separate cable housing from servo and remove cable from bracket.
3. Remove cable housing from servo and open cable to servo connecting clip and remove cable.
4. Open chain to cable retaining tab and remove chain. Refer to "NOTE" in Servo Chain, Replace for 1982 - 86 6 cylinder models.
5. Reverse procedure to install. On four cylinder engines, allow three beads to hang outside cable tab. On six and eight cylinder engines, allow seven
beads to hang outside cable tab. After attaching chain to throttle lever clip, visually check that appropriate number of beads are between throttle
lever clip and cable clip. Beads must be free to rotate.
