Maintain the tightening torque on the clamp and bend the free end of the clamp over the top of the retaining clip with tool J-22716 (Fig. 2).
Then tap the clamp bend with a hammer to secure it and to prevent the clamp from slipping out of the clip.

Loosen the installer tool tightening nut, pull the clamp between the locking tabs on the clip, and bend the locking tabs down over the clamp to
retain it (Fig. 2).

Cut the free end of the clamp as close to the retaining clip as possible and remove the clamp installer tool.

Vent the boot. Squeeze it by hand to purge air trapped inside.
CAUTION: Do not exceed the specified installed length. This could reduce flexibility and shorten boot life.
