Pistons are marked with a depression notch or arrow on the top perimeter, Fig. 9. When installed in the engine, this notch or arrow must be toward the
front of the engine. Always assemble rods and caps with the cylinder numbers facing the camshaft side of engine. Check side clearance between
connecting rod and crankshaft journals. Clearance should be .010 - .019 inch.
