Brake Master Cylinder: Service and Repair

1.

Disconnect battery ground cable.

2.

Disconnect fluid sensor electrical connectors from master cylinder.

3.

Drain fluid from brake plastic reservoir.

4.

Remove reservoir from master cylinder by pulling reservoir straight upward.

5.

Remove nuts securing master cylinder to vacuum servo (brake booster).

6.

Remove master cylinder cylinder and discard O-ring.

7.

Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:

a. Check and set pushrod depth X.
b. Adjust depth X (.878 inch) by turning pushrod at location P.
c. Torque master cylinder to vacuum servo (brake booster) attaching nuts to 10 ft. lbs.
