Water Pump: Service and Repair
1.
Disconnect battery ground cable.
2.
Mark hood hinge area and remove hood.
3.
Disconnect radiator lower hose and drain coolant into a suitable container.
4.
Remove radiator assembly, condenser and cooling fans.
5.
Carefully and slowly discharge refrigerant from A/C system.
6.
Loosen power steering pump drive belt.
7.
Loosen serpentine drive belt adjustment bolt and nut. Loosen belt and remove from water pump assembly.
8.
Remove timing belt cover attaching bolts, then the cover.
9.
Remove water pump pulley bolt, then the pulley from pump shaft.
10.
Remove pump attaching bolts. Remove pump and gasket.
11.
Reverse procedure to install.
