Remove the plenum mounting bolt above the accelerator pedal (Figure 8).

Carefully remove the clear plastic covering from the butyl tape seal on the supplied splash shield.
NOTE:
If the butyl tape begins to tear away from the shield, leave plastic covering attached and cut out center opening for heat duct.

Install the splash shield as shown in Figure 8. Make sure that the shield is behind the center console and that the shield opening aligns with the
heater outlet.
7.
Secure the shield by installing the plenum bolt through the shield hole and back into its original location. Tighten the plenum bolt securely (Figure
8).

Install the provided foam block on to the lower trim panel with the slit toward the center console end (Figure 9).
9.
Reinstall the lower trim panel and the center console screw.
10.
Ensure that the accelerator pedal moves freely and does not bind on the shield.
11.
Continue with Section D -- Refill and Bleed Cooling System.
C. Install Splash Shield (1989 Model Year Vehicles)
1.
Remove the driver's knee blocker.
2.
Remove and discard the under dash silencer pad (if equipped).
