1. Inspect vacuum hose at sensor and intake manifold for kinks, bends or deterioration. Repair as necessary.
2. With engine Off and ignition switch On, measure output voltage at sensor connector terminal B, Fig. 10. Output voltage should be 4---5 volts.
3. Measure voltage at ECU connector terminal 33, Fig. 11, and ensure voltage is the same as that recorded in previous step. If not, repair wire
harness as necessary.
4. With engine Off and ignition switch On, measure supply voltage at sensor connector terminal C. Supply voltage should be 4.5---5.5 volts.
5. Measure voltage at ECU connector terminal 16, and ensure voltage is the same as that recorded in previous step. If not, repair wire harness as
necessary.
6. Using a suitable ohmmeter, check sensor ground circuit between sensor connector terminal A and ECU connector terminal 17, then between ECU
connector terminal 17 and ECU terminal 2. If open circuit is indicated, check for defective sensor ground connection at right side of cylinder
block. Repair connection as necessary.
7. Using tool MS1700 or equivalent, test complete sensor circuit following tool manufacturer's instructions.
