With the accelerator pedal fully depressed to the floor, the spring should be compressed to 3 mm (approximately 3/32" to 1/8") from the
edge of the spring housing (see illustrations).

If necessary, move the retaining clip to adjust the cable to the above specification.
Note:
After adjustment check to be sure the interior carpet does not interfere with accelerator pedal operation.

This notice is sent to you in accordance with the requirements of the National Traffic and Motor Vehicle Safety Act.
Chrysler Motors has determined that a defect which relates to motor vehicle safety exists in some 1988 and 1989 model year Renault/Eagle Medallion
passenger cars.
Your car, whose Vehicle Identification Number is shown on the enclosed form, is one of the affected vehicles. For this reason we ask that you arrange
for service to correct the condition without delay. The service and required parts as defined in this letter will be provided free of charge.
The defect involves the throttle cable which is attached to the fuel system throttle lever. An over-travel mechanism of the cable may malfunction and
restrict travel of the cable. This could keep the throttle from closing back to the idle position when the driver's foot is lifted from the accelerator pedal.
Under some conditions, this could result in an accident without prior warning.
To prevent this condition, the throttle cable must be replaced with a revised cable. This repair will take about one-half hour to complete. However,
additional time may be required depending on how dealer service appointments are scheduled and processed. To obtain this free service:
