Fuel Pump Ballast Resistor: Description and Operation

The purpose of the ballast resistor is to reduce fuel pump speed and noise once the engine is started. The resistor is bypassed through the bypass relay
during engine cranking. The ballast resistor and bypass relay are located in the engine compartment above and behind the left headlamp.
