Crankshaft Position Sensor: Service and Repair
1. Position cylinder No. 1 at TDC, then remove distributor cap and make sure that the rotor is pointing to cap terminal for No. 1 cylinder. Check the
position the timing marks, insure that it 0° .
2. Scribe alignment marks where distributor attaches to cylinder head and where rotor is positioned in relation to distributor housing.
3. Remove distributor attaching bolt, then the distributor. Without disturbing rotor position, scribe a second mark where rotor is positioned in relation
to distributor housing.
4. To install distributor, align rotor with second mark on distributor housing made in step 3, then install distributor into cylinder head.
5. When properly installed, marks made in step 2 should be properly aligned. If not, rotate distributor as required.
6. Tighten distributor attaching bolt, then reinstall distributor cap.
