Fuel Pressure Test

1. Disconnect fuel pressure regulator hose at fuel rail, then connect suitable fuel pressure gauge to rail, Fig. 8.
2. Disconnect vacuum hose from pressure regulator, then connect suitable vacuum pump to regulator.
3. Start engine and check and record pressure reading. Pressure should be 33---39 psi.
4. Apply 15 inches Hg vacuum to pressure regulator and record pressure reading. Pressure should drop approximately 7 psi from that recorded in

previous step.

 

    If testing requires removal of any fuel system component, always depressurize fuel system before removal of component.
