Attach a 48" length of 1/4" hose to the air bleed valve on (or near) the thermostat housing (Figure 20). Route the hose away from the accessory
drive belt and pulleys and place end into a clean container. Open the bleed valve.

Slowly fill the coolant pressure bottle until a steady stream of coolant flows from the drain hose attached to the bleed valve.
3.
Close bleed valve and fill coolant pressure bottle to full mark. Install coolant bottle cap.
4.
Remove hose from bleed valve.
5.
Start engine and run until upper radiator hose is warm to the touch.
6.
Repeat steps 1-5 until all air is removed from the cooling system.

SAFETY RECALL -- HEATER CORE BYPASS
Dear Chrysler Corporation Vehicle Owner:
This notice is sent to you in accordance with the requirements of the National Traffic and Motor Vehicle Safety Act.
Chrysler Corporation has determined that a defect which relates to motor vehicle safety exists in some 1988 through 1992 model Eagle Premier and
Dodge Monaco vehicles. The heater core, part of the vehicle's heating system, may fail and allow engine cooling system steam to enter the passenger
compartment. This may cause reduced driver visibility and could result in an accident without prior warning.
Your vehicle, identified on the enclosed form, is affected. For this reason we ask that you arrange for service to correct the condition without delay. The
service and required parts as described in this letter will be provided free of charge.
To correct the condition, your dealer will install a coolant temperature controlled heater core fluid bypass valve which will prevent prolonged exposure
of the core to high temperature engine cooling fluid. The work will take about one hour to complete. However, additional time may be required
depending on how dealer appointments are scheduled and processed. To obtain this free service:

Contact your dealer as soon as possible to schedule a service appointment.

Take the enclosed Owner Notification Form with you at the time of your appointment and give it to your dealer. The form identifies the vehicle and
the service that is required.

you in getting your vehicle repaired.
