Curb Idle Speed Adjustment
ISC Motor Adjustment
1.
Start the engine and warm to normal operating temperature.
2.
Disconnect Idle Speed Control (ISC) motor wire connector.
Modify the electrical connector of ISC motor exerciser tool 7088 as follows so that it will connect to the ISC motor. Use a hobby knife to cut a
groove in terminal (A) that is the same size and shape as the grooves in terminals (D) and (B).
3.
Attach tool 7088 or equivalent to ISC motor.
4.
Fully extend the ISC motor plunger.
5.
Adjust plunger screw until the engine is running at 3500 rpm.
6.
Remove tool 7088 and connect the idle speed motor electrical connector. Idle speed should automatically return to normal within a few seconds.
