Heater Core: Service and Repair
Installation
1. To install heater core, carefully insert heater core into housing and push until it snaps into place.

2. Position A/C-heater housing to dash panel. Ensure drain tube extends through its opening in upper floor and blower motor connector and vacuum
line extends through dash panel.
3. Ensure ECU connectors are to right of drain tube and install nuts on inside of vehicle.
4. Install floor duct extension.
5. Install new O-rings on refrigerant lines and lubricate with a suitable refrigerant oil, then press each line into its connector until it snaps into place.
6. Connect vacuum hose and blower motor connector.
7. Install coolant reservoir mounting bracket and install reservoir using retaining strap.
8. Connect coolant level switch connector and carefully slide heater hoses onto heater core tubes.
9. Squeeze and slide heater core hose clamps to secure hoses.
10. Position instrument panel. Ensure panel mounting brackets engage studs on kick panels and wire harness is behind center mounting bracket.
11. While mating instrument panel to vehicle, connect all electrical connections and interior temperature sensor.
12. Install bolt to brake sled and screw into ashtray cavity.
13. Install bolts to center support bracket, connect cigarette lighter connectors and install ashtray.
14. Tighten nut located near parking brake release handle and nut which is located on passenger side kick panel.
15. Install parking brake release handle.
16. Install bolts and the defroster grille.
17. Position and install steering column shaft in intermediate steering shaft U-joint. Align two shafts using reference marks made during removal.
18. Install, but do not tighten, U-joint bolt.
19. Lift steering column into position and install nuts and bolts that attach column to instrument panel. Torque bolts to 35 lb-ft.
20. Tighten bolt in intermediate steering shaft U-joint.
21. Move plastic sleeve back into position and snap shift cable into mounting bracket.
22. Snap shift cable head onto mounting ball in shift arm.
23. Loop the shift indicator wire over the pulley and position anchoring bracket over screw.
