Throttle Body Replacement
Throttle Body
REMOVAL
1.
Disconnect the negative battery terminal, before removing fuel injection components. Remove fuel filler cap.
2.
Remove the air cleaner bonnet.
3.
Disconnect fuel lines by squeezing retainer tabs and pulling straight out.
NOTE: The retainers stay on the fuel tubes.
Throttle Body
4.
Disconnect and remove the throttle cable and the fuel injector wire harness connector. Compress the lock tabs, and lift up to release the connector.
5.
Disconnect the cruise control cable (if equipped).
6.
Disconnect the Throttle Position Sensor (TPS) and Idle Speed Control (ISC) motor wire connectors.
7.
Disconnect the vacuum connector from the side of the throttle body.
8.
Remove the support brace from the cable bracket, if equipped.
9.
Remove the throttle body to manifold mounting bolts, and remove the throttle body. Clean the throttle body, and intake manifold surfaces, and
remove all old gasket materials.
INSTALLATION
1.
Install the throttle body assembly on the intake manifold, with a new gasket, and torque the mounting bolts to 4 N-m (35 lb-in)
