Idle Speed: Adjustments
2SE Carburetor Idle Speed
1. Remove air cleaner and plug associated vacuum hoses. Disconnect and plug purge hose at canister and deceleration valve supply hose.
2. If equipped with A/C, adjust "solenoid off" idle speed to specifications by turning throttle stop screw on carburetor.
a. Place A/C control in on position and momentarily open throttle to allow solenoid to fully extend.
b. Adjust "solenoid on" idle speed to specifications by turning solenoid adjusting screw, then place A/C control in off position.
3. If not equipped with A/C, adjust curb idle to specifications by turning solenoid adjusting screw.
a. Disconnect wiring harness connector to solenoid and adjust low idle speed by turning throttle stop screw on carburetor.
b. Reconnect solenoid wire.
4. Place automatic transmission selector in park (manual transmission in neutral) and disconnect vacuum line at EGR valve.
5. With fast idle adjusting screw in highest step of fast idle cam, adjust fast idle to specifications.
6. Reconnect vacuum lines and install air cleaner.
