1. Clean all metallic parts in a suitable solvent, then allow to air dry.
2. Ensure flow control valve slides freely in bore. If it does not, check for dirt or burrs. If burrs exist, dress with crocus cloth.
3. Check capscrew at end of flow control valve for looseness. If loose, tighten using care not to damage machined surfaces.
4. Inspect pressure plate and pump plate surfaces for flatness and for being parallel with pump ring. Also, check for cracks or scoring.
5. Inspect rotor vanes for freedom of movement in rotor slots, then inspect wormshaft for worn splines cracks or other defects.
