1. Install pump shaft seal using tool No. J-8841.
2. Install pressure plate, then the seal in third groove of pump body bore.
3. Clamp pump body in a suitable vise with shaft facing downward, then insert both dowel pins into thrust plate.
4. Insert splined end of pump shaft through thrust plate and rotor, then install snap ring on shaft. Ensure to open snap ring only enough to slid over
end of shaft.
5. Install pump shaft assembly in pump body, ensuring dowel pins are properly engaged in thrust plate.
6. Install pump ring on dowel pins with rotation arrow facing upward.
7. Insert rotor vanes into slots with rounded edges facing outward, then apply a suitable lubricant to O.D. and chamfered edge of pressure plate.
8. Place pressure plate on dowel pins with plate spring groove facing outward.
9. Press plate downward approximately 1/16 inch and seat using a suitable tool, then apply a suitable lubricant to plate seal and install into second
groove of pump body bore.
10. Install spring in center groove of pressure plate.
11. Apply a suitable lubricant to O.D. of end plate, then install plate in pump body.
12. Press end plate downward, then insert retaining ring.
13. Install spring on hex-end of flow control valve, then install flow control valve assembly into pump bore with hex-end of valve facing interior of
bore.
14. Insert mounting bolt seals and pump union seal into counterbore holes in pump body, then install reservoir O-ring seal.
15. Apply a suitable lubricant to inner edge of reservoir, then position reservoir on pump body.
16. Seat reservoir by pressing downward, then ensure proper alignment of mounting bolt seals and realign as necessary.
17. Insert mounting bolts, then torque to 35 ft. lbs.
18. Install pump union seal, then the union in the control valve bore.
19. Torque union to 35 ft. lbs., then install pump pulley using tool No. J-25033-B.
