Power Steering Pump: Service and Repair
Power Steering Pump Removal and Installation

The content of this article reflects changes called for in TSB 26-08-96.

Removal

1. Drain power steering fluid.
2. Disconnect power steering pressure switch electrical connector, if equipped.
3. Disconnect pressure and return hoses from power steering pump.
4. Loosen pump mounting bolts, then remove drive belt.
5. Remove power steering pump attaching bolts, then remove pump.

Inspection

Check the drive belt for cracks.

Check the pulley assembly for uneven rotation.

Installation

5. Reverse procedure to install.
