Oil Pump: Service and Repair
Oil Pump Replacement

To remove oil pump pickup, refer to OIL PAN.
1.
Remove timing belt as outlined, refer to TIMING BELT, then remove timing belt rear cover.
2.
Remove oil pump cover, then the inner and outer gears from front case. Mark outer gear surface facing timing case so it can be installed in the
same direction.
3.
Remove relief valve plug, spring and valve.
4.
Reverse procedure to install. Lubricate oil pump internal components with engine oil before installing. After installing oil pump cover, check to
ensure oil pump gears rotate smoothly.
