Fuel Pressure Regulator W/Vacuum Line Disconnected

REMOVAL

1.  Reduce the internal pressure of the fuel pipes and hoses by completing the following operations:

Disconnecting Fuel Pump Connector

a. Disconnect the fuel pump harness connector.
b. Start and run the engine until it stalls then turn the ignition switch to OFF.
c. Disconnect the battery negative terminal.
d. Connect the fuel pump harness connector.

2. Remove the fuel return line from the pressure regulator.
3. Remove the mounting bolts then remove the fuel pressure regulator.

INSTALLATION

Fuel Pressure Regulator Installation

1. When connecting the fuel pressure regulator to the fuel rail apply unleaded fuel to the O-ring and then insert, being careful not to damage the

O-ring.

2. Torque the fuel pressure regulator mounting bolts.

Torque value:
5 - 7 ft lb (7 - 10 Nm).

3. After replacement of the fuel pressure regulator check for leaks with the system pressurized.
