Valve: Testing and Inspection

1. Check the valve face for correct contact. If incorrect, reface using valve refacer. Valve seat contact should be maintained uniform at the center of

valve face. 

2. The margin on a new valve is 1.0 mm (0.039 inch) for intake or 1.5 mm (0.059 inch) for exhaust. If the margin is smaller than 0.7 mm (0.028 inch)

for intake or 1.0 mm (0.039 inch) for exhaust, replace the valve.
