Body Side Molding Contacts Front Fender
MODELS:
1995 (FJ) Talon
SYMPTOM/CONDITION:
Door lower body side garnish molding separates from the front of the door and contacts the front fender cladding when the door is opened.
DIAGNOSIS:
Inspect the rear edge of the front fender for signs of contact and the front edge of the door for molding separation.

REPAIR PROCEDURE:
This bulletin involves attaching the existing door garnish molding or installing a new molding. Moldings that are only loose can be reattached and do not
require replacement.
1.
Remove the garnish molding(s) from the door starting from the front of the door.
If the molding is damaged, replace it using the appropriate part listed above.
2.
Thoroughly clean the surface of the door and the garnish molding with isopropyl alcohol. Make sure that all tape residue is removed from the
door.
3.
Inspect the fender and verify that it is slightly outboard of the door. If not, adjust the fender outboard to provide clearance for the moldings.
Caution:
The fender should only be slightly outboard or wind noise may occur.
4.
Apply primer (3M ATD # 8608 or equivalent) to the door garnish molding and the door where the tape will be applied (See Illustration). Allow to
dry.
NOTE:
THE MOLDING AND DOOR SURFACE TEMPERATURE SHOULD BE ABOUT 80 DEGREES FAHRENHEIT DURING INSTALLATION.
5.
Apply adhesive tape (3M ATD # 6382 or equivalent) around the door garnish molding.
