REPAIR PROCEDURE:
This bulletin involves two separate procedures. Procedure "A" addresses high effort repairs, and procedure "B" addresses rattles (noise) repairs.
A.
If high sunshade effort is experienced, the following steps can be performed.
1.
Verify that the sunroof opening trim is properly installed. Slide off a portion of the trim and inspect the installation. The trim should be installed
with the ribbed side facing the passenger compartment. The trim should be seated over the headliner and sunroof housing. Make sure it is not
seated over the slide rails. Reinstall the trim if it is not installed properly.
2.
Verify that the sunshade is installed correctly.
Remove the sunroof glass and inspect the front sunshade side tabs to ensure they are not cracked or broken. If the tabs are broken, replace the front
shade (Figure 1).
Remove and reinstall the front and rear shade, making sure the slide blocks are properly installed in the slide rails.
