Fig. 18 Compression & Lateral Lower Arm Assemblies
Remove compression and lateral lower control arms in numbered sequence, noting the following:
1. Loosen but do not remove compression lower arm ball joint.
2. Inspect compression lower arm ball joint breakaway torque. This should be 4-22 inch-lbs. If reading exceeds specified amount, replace lower arm
assembly.
3. Loosen but do not remove knuckle/lateral lower arm ball joint.
4. Inspect lateral lower arm ball joint breakaway torque. This should be 9-30 inch-lbs. If reading exceeds specified amount, replace lower arm
assembly.
