Hydraulic Control Assembly - Antilock Brakes: Service and Repair
Hydraulic Control Unit Fluid Reservoir Replacement

1.

Remove HCU assembly as described in "Hydraulic Control Unit" found in "Component Replace" section.

2.

Drain brake fluid from HCU fluid reservoir, then using a 1/8 inch pin punch, drive fluid reservoir retaining roll pin down until it is below hole in
fluid reservoir. If replacing reservoir with traction control, remove roll pin completely from housing.

3.

Insert a screwdriver between reservoir and pump housing, then pry fluid reservoir from HCU assembly.

4.

Reverse procedure to install noting the following:
a. When replacing HCU reservoir with traction control, roll pin must be installed from the top.
b. Bleed system as described under "Bleeding System."
