Remove the quarter trim panel to gain access to the striker retainer nut. Refer to Figure 5.

Bend the nut plate retainer tabs out of the way and unscrew the nut plate from the striker which will release the striker from the body.

6.

Reshape the nut plate retainer tabs into normal position and drop the nut plate back into place.

7.

Reinstall striker to the most outboard position in preparation for adjustment.

8.

Remove the latch and latch rod from the door and inspect for damage and replace any damaged components. Refer to Figure 4.
