Proportioning Valve

PURPOSE

The proportioning valve limits the rear brake pressure for balanced front to rear brake operation.

OPERATION

Braking forces (front and rear) may be balanced by a proportioning valve which is part of the Combination Valve Assembly. During braking, a
proportioning valve limits the rear brake pressure compared to the front. This limiting of pressure starts immediately with some types of
proportioning valves. With others, the valve operates when the pressure in the rear brake line reaches a predetermined level.
