Timing Cover: Service and Repair
REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION
1. Relieve fuel system pressure. then disconnect battery ground cable and position cable aside.
2. Remove air cleaner fresh air tube.
3. Drain cooling system and crankcase.
4. Remove cooling fan.
5. Loosen water pump hub bolts.
6. Loosen and remove accessory drive belts.
7. Remove water pump pulley.
8. Remove auxiliary heater coolant tube, then the water pump stud bolt nut.
9. Remove lower tube bracket bolt from cylinder block, then position assembly aside.
10. Remove alternator adjusting arm and brace to throttle body stud, then position assembly aside.
11. On models equipped with A/C, remove compressor and bracket bolts, then position assembly aside.
12. Remove crankshaft pulley and damper.
13. Remove water pump as required.
