Compressor Clutch Relay: Description and Operation
OPERATION
Under heavy engine load, the powertrain control module will energize the Wide Open Throttle Cutout Relay and the A/C function will be temporarily
disabled.
The wide-open throttle relay is located in the engine compartment on a relay bar attached to the left inner fender. It is designed to interrupt the A/C
clutch (2884) operation during high engine demand. This interruption allows for increased acceleration under added engine power demand.
