Heater Hose: Service and Repair
With A/C
Heater Water Hoses
SPECIAL SERVICE TOOL(S) REOUIRED
Removal and Installation
1.
Drain the coolant from the cooling system.
2.
Disconnect heater water hoses by depressing plastic tabs using Heater Hose Disconnect Tool T85T-18539-AH, then pull on heater water hose
until plastic connector clears locking tabs. Remove tool and disconnect heater water hose.
3.
Repair heater water hose using one of the following procedures:
a. Install a new hose assembly or remove old hose from quick connect ends and install new hose, clamping hose to quick connect ends.
b. If connector is broken or damaged, replace with connector assembly or subsequent parts as needed.
4.
Install heater water hose by pushing heater water hose on tube until connector snaps over bead on tube.
5.
Fill and bleed cooling system.
6.
NOTE: All heater water hoses that are installed in service as replacement parts should be made with EPDM and NOMEX as their component
materials. Heater water hoses made from other materials may not be suitable for their particular application.
Check for coolant leaks and for proper operation of the system.
