Hydraulic Control Assembly - Antilock Brakes: Service and Repair
1.
Disconnect and plug brake lines from valve.
2.
Disconnect wiring harness, then remove valve attaching nuts and valve from frame rail.
3.
Position new valve onto frame rail, then install and torque attaching nuts to 30-40 inch lbs on Aerostar models, 11-14 ft. lbs. on Bronco II,
Explorer and Ranger models, 19-24 ft. lbs. on E-Series models or 12-17 ft. lbs. on Bronco and F-Series models.
4.
Reconnect wiring harness and brake lines, torque brake lines to valve, 1/2 20 threaded fitting to 10-17 ft. lbs., 7/16 24 threaded fitting to 10-15 ft.
lbs. and 3/8 24 threaded fitting to 10-15 ft. lbs.
5.
Perform system brake bleeding procedures as required.
