Inspect master cylinder for Blue spot of paint

0.2 Hrs. - Insert in Box "A" on Form 1864

Install Master Cylinder (includes Inspection)

0.7 Hrs. - Insert in Box "B" on Form 1864

NOTE:

Add 0.1 hour Administrative Allowance to the total repair time.

PARTS REQUIREMENTS

FIES is direct shipping replacement master cylinders to each involved dealer and affiliate. The supply, as a percentage of the total vehicles shown on the
respective dealer reports (vehicle lists), will be 10% for locations with moderate ambient temperatures and 25% for locations with cold ambient
temperatures. If additional parts are needed, do not order recall parts from FPSD International Distribution Operations, Windsor. Order all additional
requirements directly from Wixom using the mailing address on page No. 1 of this Bulletin. For more urgent handling, use cable address "RECALLS -

AEROSTAR HYDRAULIC BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER

TECHNICAL INSTRUCTIONS

INSPECT FOR BLUE DOT OF PAINT ON MASTER CYLINDER

Inspect the master cylinder for a BLUE dot of paint on the front of the cylinder casting. Cylinders with this BLUE dot of paint are NOT to be replaced
under this recall (factory installed certified part). Master cylinders having any color except BLUE should be replaced.

REPLACE MASTER CYLINDERS WITHOUT BLUE DOT OF PAINT ON CASTING

Before servicing master cylinder, protect all wiring, electrical components and/or plastic parts from brake fluid spillage.

Remove and replace brake master cylinder and bleed brake system. Follow procedure in 1990 Aerostar/Ranger/Bronco II Truck Shop Manual (Page
06-06-7 Brake Actuation - Hydraulic) for master cylinder removal and installation.
