1.

Start engine, center steering wheel, then shut ignition off to lock wheel.

2.

Raise and support vehicle, then remove wheel assembly.

3.

Remove brake caliper, rotor and dust shield from spindle.

4.

Remove cotter pin and retaining nut, then separate tie rod end from spindle using suitable tool.

5.

Support lower control arm with suitable jack, remove cotter pin, then loosen ball joint retaining nut several turns.

6.

Disengage ball joint from spindle using suitable tool, remove retaining nut, then lower control arm until ball joint stud clears spindle.

7.

Remove upper ball joint to spindle retaining nut and bolt, Figs. 3 and 4, separate ball joint from spindle, then remove spindle from vehicle.

8.

Reverse procedure to install. Tighten upper ball joint, lower ball joint and tie rod end to spindle retaining nut to specifications.
