Suspension Spring ( Coil / Leaf ): Service and Repair
Rear

1.

Raise and support rear of vehicle.

2.

Using a suitable jack to support rear axle, disconnect shock absorber from lower mounting, then lower axle assembly until all spring pressure is
relieved.

3.

Remove lower and upper spring retainer attaching nuts and bolts, then spring, retainers and insulators.

4.

Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:

a. When installing coil spring, ensure tapered coil (white marking) of spring faces upward.
b. Tighten upper spring retainer attaching bolt and nut to specifications and lower spring retainer and shock absorber attaching nuts and bolts to

specifications.
