Load Compensator: Description and Operation

This valve, used with some hydraulic brake systems, regulates hydraulic pressure to the rear brakes according to vehicle load. It is commonly located on
a crossmember and is activated through a linkage system that is connected to the rear axle housing cover. Pressure from a loaded vehicle on the linkage
lever will cause the height sensing valve to increase hydraulic pressure to the rear brakes or, if the vehicle's load is reduced, hydraulic pressure to the rear
brakes is reduced.
