Lifter / Lash Adjuster: Service and Repair

Disconnect battery ground cable, then drain cooling system.

Remove intake manifold.
3.
Loosen rocker arm fulcrum bolts just enough to allow rocker arms to be lifted off of pushrods, then remove pushrods. Tag pushrods for reference
during installation.
4.
Remove valve lifters using a suitable magnet. If lifters are stuck, use puller tool No. T70L-6500-A or other suitable claw type tool to remove.
5.
Reverse procedure to install. Prior to installation, lubricate valve lifters, lifter bores, pushrod ends and rocker arm assemblies with a suitable oil
conditioner or SAE 50 engine oil.
