Front Crankshaft Seal: Service and Repair
1.
Loosen drive belts, then remove four crankshaft pulley to damper attaching bolts and remove pulley.
2.
Remove crankshaft damper attaching bolts, then using a suitable puller, remove damper from crankshaft.
3.
Using a suitable flat blade screwdriver, carefully remove front cover seal.
4.
Check front cover and crankshaft seal surface for damage or corrosion that may cause a replacement seal to fail.
5.
Lubricate seal lips with clean engine oil, then install seal with a suitable seal installer.
6.
Lubricate crankshaft damper sealing surface with clean engine oil.
7.
Apply RTV sealant to crankshaft damper keyway.
8.
Install crankshaft damper and attaching bolt, then install crankshaft pulley and attaching bolts.
9.
Install and tension drive belts, then start engine and check for oil leaks.
