Using a wire brush or a light file, deburr the edges of the inner brake pad backing plates in all the areas where the pad slides in the spindle shoe
slot, as shown in Figure 1.

NOTE:
THE DEBURRING PROCESS IS RECOMMENDED EVEN WHEN INSTALLING NEW BRAKE PADS.

WARNING:
WEAR SAFETY GLASSES WHEN FILING OR WIRE-BRUSHING THE BRAKE PAD BACKING PLATES.

CAUTION:
DO NOT GRIND. IT IS POSSIBLE TO REMOVE TOO MUCH MATERIAL WHEN GRINDING.

Inspect the spindle for excessive wear in the shoe slot area (Refer to Figure 2) and replace the spindle if necessary.

6.

Lubricate the spindle shoe slots and V-grooves with Disc Brake Caliper Lubricant (D7AZ-19590-A).
